Learn more about the worldwide Slow Food movement and find out how to become a member of the Slow Food Tampa Bay Chapter at two upcoming organizational meetings.
The Tampa meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Art Institute of Tampa located at Parkside at Tampa Bay Park, 4401 N. Himes Ave., Suite 150, in the Tutored Chef dining room located on the second floor.
Parking is free. Please note the restaurant does not serve food on Tuesdays (http://www.artinstitutes.edu/tampa/news-and-events/the-tutored-chef-restaurant-offers-fresh-food-at-friendly-prices-13502810.aspx).
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7 p.m. There will be brief presentations as well as opportunities to ask questions and volunteer to help with membership, committees or programs. There is no cost to attend the meeting but RSVPs are requested. Anyone attending is asked to provide their name and an email address to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Slow Food Tampa Bay, a chapter of Slow Food USA, is a non-profit, membership-based organization that supports “good clean food and raising awareness of how food choices affect our community and the world.”
Anyone interested in getting involved in this cause at a local level is welcome to attend the upcoming organizational meetings.
